How OutfitNest earns
OutfitNest is free. There are no paid features in the current version and no ads from ad networks. Soon you will be able to buy tokens for virtual try-ons and style reports, and a Family+ subscription. The wardrobe, the outfits and the picks stay free.
Links to stores
When the app suggests something worth buying, it can show buttons that open a store's website. Some of these links will be affiliate links: if you open a store through one and buy something there, the store's affiliate network may pay OutfitNest a commission. The price you pay does not change. The commission comes out of the store's side, not yours.
Some stores may instead pay to be included in the app. Those appear in the same way and with the same label.
What a commission cannot do
Items are chosen by how well they fit your wardrobe: type, colour, size and price range compared with what you already own. A commission cannot make an item fit. An item that does not suit you is not shown, whatever store it comes from, and no store can buy a better place in the matching.
What you will see
- Picks from stores we may earn from will be labelled, with a short sentence next to the label that says so.
- Those picks may be shown ahead of other picks, and the label will say that this is why.
- Every pick has a "Why am I seeing this" explanation.
- You can turn store picks off in the app at any time. The wardrobe and the outfit suggestions keep working without them.
What the store learns about you
Nothing from your wardrobe or your profile. When you tap a store button the link carries only generic search words (for example "black dress women") and a random code that lets the network tell us an order was made. The store and its network also receive what any website receives when a link is opened, such as your IP address and browser type. Details are in the privacy policy.
